More Adventure bikes!

Recently I was asked to make up a couple of Surly ogre adventure bikes!

I really like putting bikes together that I know will have a story or 2 to tell in a couple of months!

Happy adventuring guys!

ADVENTURE TIME!!

Recently I built some bikes that are going on an epic adventure, I was rather excited when late last year I was asked to re-spec a pair of Kona dews for a serious tour, a couple of weeks..a pair of Rohloff hubs and a lot of fun only the bars, stem and frame remain the same….but then they are setting off from Alaska heading to Argentina! 1 year and a lot of miles later!! you can follow all their progress on their blog (www.bearsbanditsandbugs.wordpress.com) and follow them on twitter @bearbanditbug! Please check them out and show some support to a couple of really nice people on an epic adventure.

Custom Builds

I have been getting a lot of custom build requests coming in over the last few weeks, its been keeping me busy over the last few months. If you are looking for your dream bike get in touch as I have access to a wide range of brands covering Road, Mountain bike and Touring and I offer competative pricing!

In recent weeks I have had a Titanium Kinesis road bike with 11 speed Ultegra and a Steel Pipedream mountain bike with Rohloff gearing.

Most recently has been a pair of Kona Dews fully re built with Rohloff speed hubs and dynamos for a ride from Alaska to Argentina..I will have a link to the ride blog and some photos soon!

I can also offer hand built wheels at reasonable prices.

Re-cycled

The other day I was looking at a giant pile of old innertubes sat in the corner of the workshop, I figured that there must be something better than to just throw them in the bin!
My girlfriend already made a few bags last year from old tubes, they worked out really well and were popular with her friends, and in the past I have made juggling balls from them they work well but are a bit heavy.
I then had the perfect idea for them….handle bar tape! The tubes are perfect in every way! Stretchy, grippy, comfortable and best of all waterproof! I strapped some on to my Dynatech and its awesome!

I urge you all to try and re use as much as you can for what ever you can use it for…you will feel better for it!

Project Dynatech

A chap came in yesterday and and asked me to remove a few components from a frame, in exchange he gave me the frame that I was working on….it turned out to be an old Raleigh Dynatech 405Ti! I spent today cleaning it and sorting a few things out and decided that I was going to give it a full strip back and re spray. I will keep updating you with the progress and post as many photos as I can!

The bike is now all done, and I turned it into a fixie to get me through the winter!
